1. Sitges Carnival
Dates: 12–18 February 2026
Main Address: Passeig de la Ribera, 08870 Sitges, Barcelona, Spain
Main Venues: Town center, beachfront promenade, Cap de la Vila
Why it matters
Sitges Carnival is widely considered one of Europe’s wildest and most visually extravagant carnival celebrations, famous for its LGBTQ+ energy, massive parades, and theatrical costumes.
Personal opinion
This is the event that defines Sitges’ personality. It feels less commercial than Rio and more intimate than Venice, but somehow more chaotic in the best possible way. The entire town becomes a stage. If your audience likes colorful nightlife, culture mixed with party atmosphere, and unforgettable street photography, this is probably the strongest event to feature first in your blog.
2. Sitges International Film Festival
Dates: 8–18 October 2026
Address: Meliá Sitges
Why it matters
This legendary festival is one of the world’s most respected fantasy and horror film festivals and attracts filmmakers, actors, and cinephiles from across the globe.
Personal opinion
Even people who don’t love horror movies end up enjoying this festival because the atmosphere is electric. Sitges somehow transforms into a cinematic playground where zombies, indie directors, cosplay fans, and luxury travelers all coexist. It’s stylish without feeling elitist. For blog readers interested in creative culture or cinematic tourism, this event is gold.
3. Sitges Pride
Dates: 10–14 June 2026
Main Address: Passeig Marítim de Sitges, 08870 Sitges, Spain
Why it matters
Sitges Pride is one of Europe’s most iconic coastal Pride festivals, combining beach culture, concerts, nightlife, and international LGBTQ+ tourism.
Personal opinion
What makes Sitges Pride different from bigger Pride events is the scale. Everything is walkable, social, and relaxed. You’re never stuck traveling between venues. The beach-town setting gives it a more carefree Mediterranean feeling than the giant urban Pride festivals. Reddit travelers consistently describe it as easy to meet people and surprisingly welcoming for solo visitors.
4. Festival Jardins Terramar
Dates: 31 July – 12 August 2026
Address: Jardins de Terramar
Why it matters
A premium summer music festival featuring concerts inside the historic Terramar gardens.
Personal opinion
This is the “elegant summer nights” version of Sitges. Compared to the louder beach-party atmosphere elsewhere, Terramar feels refined and cinematic. Palm trees, warm Mediterranean air, and open-air performances create an almost unreal atmosphere. Ideal for audiences interested in upscale travel experiences.
5. Corpus Christi Festival Sitges
Date: 7 June 2026
Address: Old Town Sitges, especially around Carrer d’en Bosch and Plaça de l’Ajuntament
Why it matters
Famous for its spectacular flower carpets (“alfombras florales”) decorating the historic streets of Sitges.
Personal opinion
This is arguably the most photogenic traditional event in Sitges. Unlike the nightlife-heavy festivals, Corpus reveals the artistic and religious soul of the town. The flower carpets are genuinely impressive in person and perfect for slow-travel or cultural-travel blog content.
6. Sitges International Vintage Car Rally
Date: 1 March 2026
Address: Arrival route along Passeig de la Ribera, Sitges
Why it matters
A classic car rally featuring vintage automobiles traveling from Barcelona to Sitges.
Personal opinion
This event has a surprisingly cinematic feel. People dress in period costumes, and the whole promenade looks like a movie set from the 1920s. It’s much calmer than Carnival, but visually stunning for photography-focused blogs.
7. Bears Sitges Week
Dates: 4–13 September 2026
Main Area: Beachfront and LGBTQ+ nightlife district around Carrer del Pecat
Why it matters
One of Europe’s largest bear-community gatherings with beach parties, nightlife, social events, and international tourism.
Personal opinion
Even outside the LGBTQ+ community, this event showcases how inclusive and socially open Sitges really is. The atmosphere is relaxed rather than pretentious, and visitors often describe it as one of the easiest places in Europe to socialize and meet new people.
8. Sitges Wine Harvest Festival & Wine Fair
Dates: 2–4 October 2026
Address: Passeig de la Ribera, Sitges
Why it matters
A regional wine celebration focused on Catalan wines, cava, and local gastronomy.
Personal opinion
This is probably the most underrated event in Sitges. It lacks the global fame of Carnival or the Film Festival, but for food-and-wine travelers it may actually be the most enjoyable. Less crowded, more authentic, and very local.
9. Three Kings Parade Sitges
Date: 5 January 2026
Main Starting Address: Plaça de la Fragata, Passeig de la Ribera 1, 08870 Sitges, Barcelona, Spain
Arrival Event Address: Port d’Aiguadolç, 08870 Sitges, Barcelona, Spain
Event Details
The Three Kings Parade is one of Sitges’ most beloved family traditions. The celebration begins with the arrival of the Three Wise Men by boat at Port d’Aiguadolç around 12:30 PM, followed by the main evening parade through the center of Sitges starting at 5 PM from La Fragata. The procession passes through Passeig de la Ribera, Carrer de la Bassa Rodona, Cap de la Vila, and ends near the Town Hall where children can deliver their letters to the Kings.
Personal opinion
This is probably the most emotionally authentic event in Sitges. Unlike Carnival or Pride, which are built around spectacle and nightlife, the Three Kings Parade feels deeply rooted in Spanish and Catalan family traditions. The arrival of the Kings by sea gives the whole celebration a uniquely Mediterranean atmosphere that you rarely see elsewhere in Europe.
What makes it especially blog-worthy is the contrast: during the day Sitges feels calm and elegant, then suddenly transforms into a glowing parade filled with music, lights, sweets, and excited children. It’s incredibly photogenic without feeling overly touristy.
For travel bloggers, this event works particularly well if your audience likes:
- Christmas markets and winter traditions
- Family-friendly European travel
- Cultural authenticity over commercial tourism
- Street photography and festive night scenes
One underrated detail is how local the atmosphere still feels. Even though tourists attend, the event clearly belongs to the residents of Sitges, which gives it far more charm than many larger Christmas parades in Europe.
